Fast forward a few years, being out of shape with a kid, I realized I needed something. My wife and I started at a local Crossfit, and like many I fell in love with the classic lifts. I quickly transitioned over to lifting full time and never looked back.... well, maybe once or twice for a competition or to just show people that I can still move.
Recently I've been rehabbing some patellar tendonitis, and have focused on rowing and building strength. I'm currently 460k into my goal for 1,000,000 meters in 2020 and am positioning for a return to the platform in 2021.
My turning point was when we added my oldest daughter. I was complacent. Consumed by life changes, work, and had grown soft. Complacency kills. You become comfortable, which is where people die. You have to push yourself into areas of discomfort in order to grow, or else you'll never amount to what you should.
Motivation & Passion
When I see something *click* with an athlete. Taking them from not knowing what a snatch is, to performing the movement with fluidity. Beyond that, I enjoy working with people who have been in the sport for a while or exposed to the lifts, making adjustments and watching weight that may have previously been deemed impossible to fly overhead.
